Only in Philly

A couple things about Philly fans and their team.

First, there's this gross story about some slob (pictured on the right) who was arrested for puking on an 11-year-old girl and her father during a recent game in Philly.
A New Jersey man is facing charges after police say he intentionally vomited on an 11-year-old girl and her father in the stands during a Philadelphia Phillies game.

Matthew Clemmens, 21, of Cherry Hill, N.J., was charged with assault, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and related offenses for the incident at Wednesday night's Phillies-Nationals game. He was being held Friday on $36,000 bail.

Police say Clemmens made himself vomit on an off-duty police captain and one of his daughters after Clemmens' companion was kicked out of Citizens Bank Park for unruly behavior, which included cursing, spitting and spilling beer by Clemmens and a friend.

Classy stuff.... There are more details in the article, but I felt it would be better if I let you guys decide if you wanted to read it or not.

Then the other day while going through my normal Yankee/Baseball reading materials something caught my eye. Several stories reporting the Phillies receiving their National League Championship rings in a ceremony before today's Phillies-Nationals game. Pardon me, but when did we start rewarding second place finishes? I understand giving out the rings, but a pregame ceremony? Come on losers. I could go on a rant and bash the Phillies for days on this one, especially after all the dumb comments they made last year in the World Series. Since last October/November I have come to understand why the Mets hate the Phillies so much. What do you guys think? Am I the only one who thinks this is somewhat idiotic? The Phillies got their NL Championship trophy and that should have been the end of it. Save the rings for something special, like a World Series victory.
