News & Notes
- CC Sabathia has struggled against the A's. In 18 starts against them in his career, he's 5-7, with a 5.80 ERA in those games. Last year he went 2-0, with a 4.57 ERA in three starts against the A's. In 9 career starts in Oakland, he's 2-4, with a 6.35 ERA. In one start it Oakland last year, CC went 1-0, and in 8 innings allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7.

- Dallas Braden hasn't had much success against the Yankees. In four games (one start) against them in his career, he's 0-1, with a 7.71 ERA. The only start came last year when he allowed 7 runs on 10 hits and walked 6 in 5.2 innings.

- According to Chad Jennings, Joe Girardi said that
Nick Johnson is at first “just to change it up” and Curtis Granderson is getting his a day off because “I just thought it was a good day for Curtis.”

- The Yankees have won 6 in a row and 9 of their last 10.

- Joba Chamberlain and Mariano Rivera are likely unavailable today.

- Chan Ho Park has been playing catch and the Yankees expect to activate him when he's eligible to come off the DL.

- Oakland has placed OF Travis Buck on the 15-day DL with
a strained right oblique.
