Some Opening Day Info

The Yankees released this information about Tuesday's Opening Day:
  • As you know, the game will be on Tuesday, April 13 vs. the Los Angeles Angels, and first pitch is set for 1:05 p.m.

  • Gates will open at 11:00 a.m.

  • The ring ceremony will begin at 12:15 p.m. Whitey Ford and Yogi Berra will be handing out the rings.
    "In addition to the ring ceremony, the Yankees' 2009 championship flag-as well as flags commemorating each of the Yankees' other 26 World Championships-will be on display for the Opening Day ceremony and game, encompassing the roof of the entire Stadium."
  • Bernie Williams will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

  • Kristin Chenoweth is singing the National Anthem.

  • At the conclusion of the anthem, there will be a fly over by Fighter Squadron Composite Twelve (VFC-12), a US Navy Reserve fighter squadron.

  • United States Army Sergeant First Class Mary Kay Messenger will perform "God Bless America" during the 7th-inning stretch.
