- The forecast for tonight was pretty awful, but has improved over the last few hours, and as of now the Yankees are opening the gates on time and are hoping to get this one in.

- The Yankees called up Mark Melancon before the game and sent down Greg Golson to make room on the roster.

- CC Sabathia has made 13 career starts against Boston and is 5-5, with a 3.74 ERA. In two no decisions against them this year, he's got a 7.20 ERA. In 10 innings he's allowed 8 runs on 10 hits, walked 4 and struck out 8. Here's some more of CC's stats: K/9: 6.41, BB/9: 2.70, HR/9: 1.18, GB rate: 51.6%, FIP: 4.39, xFIP: 3.94, BABIP: .248.
