According to
Chad Jennings, the Yankees claimed RHP Shane Lindsay off waivers from the Rockies today, and he is headed to the team's minor league complex before being assigned to one of the Yankees minor league teams. To make room on the 40-man roster, the Yankees released RHP Christian Garcia. Garcia recently had his second Tommy John surgery after tearing a ligament in his elbow, and hasn't been able to stay healthy since being drafted by the Yanks back in 2004.
Lindsay, was 0-1, with a 6.59 ERA for Colorado Springs--the Rockies Triple-A affiliate--this year. In six minor league seasons the 25-year-old is 18-13, with a 3.48 ERA.
