“I pushed it pretty good today,” Pettitte said after returning to the clubhouse. “I feel like my whole leg, everything, is kind of a little fatigued. But I think that’s normal. I got to build up the stamina in my leg.”
Pettitte said he would throw another 60 pitches in a simulated game Thursday in Tampa, Fla. He said his arm “feels great.”
“It’s just a matter of getting this whole side back in shape,” he said, as he slapped his left thigh.
Pettitte said he could be back as early as August 22nd against the Mariners, but doesn't want to rush back and make things worse.
