Girardi Tired?
What is it with Girardi in September? Does the long season get to him? For the 2nd time in a week, bonehead pitching decisions cost the Yanks a game. In the Texas series, leaving Mo in for 2 innings in an extra innings game and then throwing him out there the next afternoon was a recipe for disaster. Tonight, with Hughes over 100 pitches, having just been rested a start, he leaves him in to pitch to a lefty who hit a HR off him earlier in the game. Where was Boone Logan or Royce Ring out of the bullpen to get the lefty out – isn’t that their job? Why ruin a good game by Hughes who was clearly laboring? I just don’t get it.
