If you were wondering why Jorge Posada didn't pinch-hit for Francisco Cervelli late in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Orioles, here's your answer:
Joe Girardi said after the game that Posada complained of concussion symptoms last night, saying he was somewhat foggy having taken a foul tip early in the game. After he didn't sleep well last night and came to the Stadium with a headache, Posada underwent tests here before being sent to a neurologist in Manhattan. At this point, the Yankees are waiting for those results to see if Jorge will be with them went they head to Texas tomorrow night. Hopefully this isn't something that lingers. Posada has been very good lately, and the Yankees need him healthy.
"Any time you start talking about concussions, and we've seen a lot of these last a long time in players, there is concern," Girardi said.
However, if this does linger, there's a pretty good power-hitting catcher/DH playing for Scranton right now who's season is coming to an end pretty soon.
