OK, so it's no shock at all, and I could have sworn we all knew this a few weeks ago, but today Girardi made it official, Chien-Ming Wang will be the opening day starter. "He will start Opening Day," Girardi said. "He's earned it. He's won 19 games the last couple of years, and he's thrown the ball well the last couple of years. I'm comfortable starting him Opening Day."
Wang pitched in a single-A game today, and he went 5.2 innings, and gave up 5 runs (4 earned) on 6 hits and a walk, and stuck out 3. He threw 88 pitches, 60 of them for strikes. Mark Fiensand tells us that "three of the runs and three of his hits allowed came in his last inning when he was clearly tired."

No big surprise here just like you stated. Do you know if the game will be aired on tv?
No, it's not on TV.
