The SWB Yankees started off their first road trip of the year with a 7-3 win at Durham (Tampa Bay). The win puts the Yanks early season record at 6-3.

PITCHING: Darrell Rasner coming off 6 shutout innings in his first start, pitched another very good game. He went 6 innings allowing 1 run. In 5 of the 6 innings he faced the minimum amount of batters. The only run scored in the 4th inning after 2 outs. He gave up 3 singles for Durham's first run. The win moved Rasner to 2-0 on the season. 6.0 IP, 1 run, 4 hits, 5 K's, and a walk. 9 groundouts/3 flyouts. He threw 84 pitches/55 for strikes.

Edwar Ramirez pitched perfect 7th & 8th innings with 3 strikeouts. ... Jose Veras pitched the 9th. After getting 2 outs he gave up a single and 2-run homer to give Durham it's final 2 runs.

OFFENSE: SWB jumped out on top in the 1st inning when Brett Gardner led off the game with a triple. Justin Christian followed with a rbi double to give SWB a 1-0 lead. ... 3rd inning: Bernie Castro had an infield single, stole 2nd base. Christian followed with his 2nd rbi double to make the score SWB 2-0. Christian ended up with 3 doubles in the game. ... SWB broke the game open in the 6th. One out walks to Shelly Duncan and Jason Lane followed by a 3-run homer by Code Ransom, and solo homer by Nick Green for 4 more runs. SWB 6-1. ...
