4/9 Minor League Report

For the 2nd night in a row the SWB Yanks were shutout by the Louisville Bats (Reds). This time by the scored of 11-0. The loss was their 3rd in a row to Louisville and brings their record to 4-3 on the year.

PITCHING: Steven White made his 2nd start of the year. He breezed in the 1st inning setting Louisville down in order on 7 pitches. ... In the 2nd, everything fell apart for White. He loaded the bases on a walk, double and infield single. With 2 outs 5 runs scored on a double and 2 singles giving Louisville a 5-0 lead. ... In the 3rd inning: 3 unearned runs scored, making the score 8-0 on a Nick Green throwing error, single, and 3-run homer by Alvin Colina. Colina ended up with 5 RBI in the game. ... White gave up the 9th run in the 4th on a HBP and double. ... All 9 runs scored after 2 were out. ... Whites' line: 4.0 IP, 9 runs, 6 earned runs, 11 hits, 3 K's, 1 BB. 87 pitches/56 strikes.

Heath Phillips came on to pitch scoreless 5th & 6th innings. ...Scott Patterson pitched a scoreless 7th. He gave up 2 runs in the 8th on a walk and 2 doubles making the score 11-0. ... Jose Veras pitched a scoreless 9th after loading the bases and getting Andy Phillips to strikeout for the final out.

OFFENSE: The Yanks batting average dropped to .202 after this game. That should say it all. ... Nick Green and Eric Duncan were the only two to reach 2nd base, both with doubles. Juan Miranda had 2 singles and Bernie Castro added a bunt single.
