PITCHING: This was a bullpen by committee start for the SWB pitching staff. Steven Jackson got the start and pitched the first 3 innings allowing 1 run on 3 hits. ... Steven White pitched the 4th thru 6th innings giving up 2 runs on a 2-run homer. That made the score SWB 4-3 at the time. ... David Robertson came on to pitch the 6th & 7th innings. Robertson came into the game with a scoreless streak of 12.2 innings over his last 7 games. Opponents were hitting .just .163 against him. He gave up an unearned run in the 6th that tied the score at 4-4. Robertson pitched a perfect 7th inning. Robertson's line: 2 IP, 1 unearned run, no hits, 3 strikeouts---0 walks. His ERA is at 1.61. ... J. B. Cox pitched a perfect 8th inning and got the win (2-1) Cox came into the game with opponents batting just .163. His ERA is now at 0.63. ... OFFENSE: SWB was paced by Cody Ransom's 4 RBI's. ... SWB picked up a run in the 1st inning when Ransom singled, Juan Miranda reached on an error and Shelley Duncan got the RBI on a single making the score 1-1. ... In the 2nd, Brett Gardner doubled, Ransom sac bunt and Juan Miranda got the RBI on a single giving SWB a 2-1 lead. ... In the 4th, the Yanks picked up 2 runs. They loaded the bases and Ransom was HBP and Miranda followed with an RBI groundout. That made the score SWB 4-1 at the time. ... In the 8th with the score tied at 4-4 Chris Stewart was hit by a pitch, Brett Gardner singled, followed by a Cody Ransom 3-run homer (12) giving the Yanks the 7-4 win.
