PITCHING: Ross Ohlendorf got the start and the win (1-0). He pitched very well. Thru the first 5 innings he allowed just 2 singles, both in the 3rd inning. He started the 6th inning and loaded the bases on 2 singles and a hit batter before being relieved. One run did score in the 6th that was charged to him. Ohlendorf's line: 5.0 IP, 1 run, 4 hits, 7 K's--0 walks. He threw 73 pitches--48 strikes-25 balls.

Steven Jackson relieved Ohlendorf in the 6th inning with the bases loaded and no outs. Jackson did a great job getting the next 3 batters but a run scored on a groundout. Jackson gave up 1 run in the 7th on a single, stolen base, and wild pitch. ... Heath Phillips pitched a scoreless 8th inning. ... Scott Strickland pitched a scoreless 9th inning picking up his 3rd save of the year. Strickland hasn't allowed a run in his last 16 appearances.

OFFENSE: SWB broke out to a 1-0 lead in the 4th inning when Eric Duncan snapped a 1-18 string with a solo homer (8). ... In the 6th, Alberto Gonzalez hit a solo homer (2). SWB then loaded the bases when Eric Duncan singled., and Juan Miranda and Matt Carson both walked. Cody Ransom followed with the RBI single to give SWB a 3-0 lead. ... In the 8th inning, Matt Carson singled, Cody Ransom walked, Ben Broussard followed with a 2-RBI double to make the score 5-2.
