Joba Chamberlain pitched well tonight, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits in 6.2 IP; he didn't walk a batter and struck out 9. He would have finished the 7th, but Robinson Cano lost a pop out in the Rogers Centre roof which would have been the final out of the inning.

He was also hurt by his defense in the 3rd inning when he allowed two of the three runs. With a runner on 1st and nobody out Jorge Posada allowed a past ball allowing the runner to move to 2nd. Joe Inglett then laid down a sacrifice bunt and Posada threw the ball over Wilson Betemit's head at first, so instead of a runner on 3rd with 1 out, it was 1st and 3rd with nobody out. After telling the media that he was a catcher last night, he certainly didn't look like one tonight.

Later in the inning with 1st and 3rd and 1 out, Joba got a ground ball, but Wilson Betemit mishandled a ball that could have been an inning-ending double-play, but instead turned into a force out.

Billy Traber replaced Joba and did not pitch well. He allowed 2 runs on a Matt Stairs two-run homer in the 8th to extend the Jays lead from 3-0 to 5-0. Traber's ERA is now 6.00, and he's not getting lefties out (they're hitting .360 against him), so why is he on the roster?

JAYS PITCHING

The Yankees offense has been terrible lately, but I don't think many, if any teams in the league would have hit Jays' starter Roy Halladay tonight. He was absolutely dominating, shutting out the Yankees on a 2 hits while walking 1 and striking out 8.

Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter were the only Yankees to get hits.
