(AAA) Scranton (53-39) lost Toledo 8-1: Box Score - Recap

PITCHING: Jeff Karstens got the start and took the loss (3-4). Karstens lasted 5.1 innings. He was charged with 6 runs, 8 hits. He had 3 K's-3 walks. Karstens gave up 3 runs in the 3rd inning on 2 singles and a 3-run homer by Brandon Inge. Karstens worked out of trouble in almost every inning. He started the 6th and was relieved after he loaded the bases.

J B Cox relieved Karstens with 1 out and the bases loaded in the 6th. He gave up a RBI sac fly and 2-rbi single to give Toledo a 6-0 lead. ...Cox pitched a scoreless 7th inning. ... Cox gave up 2 runs in the 8th inning when he hit a batter and gave up a 2-run homer that made the score 8-1 Toledo.

OFFENSE: SWB could only get 3 hits off Toledo starter Chris Lambert who went the distance for Toledo. ... Greg Porter picked up 2 singles, with Alberto Gonzalez getting the other.......SWB picked up it's only run in the 7th inning when Alberto Gonzalez singled and moved to 2nd on an error. Gonzalez moved to 3rd on a Juan Miranda flyout and scored on a Cody Ransom groundout.

NOTES: Catcher Chris Stewart picked off a runner at 2nd base and threw out a runner attempting to steal 2nd base. ... Jeff Karstens picked a runner off 1st base. ... Brandon Inge with the big 3-run homer is rehabbing from an oblique injury.
