Just watched that July 1, 2004 classic with the Flaherty GW...
Wow. That was still amazing 4 years later...
Tho i gotta admit, Pokey Reese's play in the stands was just as difficult if not more impressive than Jeter's. Obviously didnt have the same important implications, but a really nice play nonetheless.
Shame this rivalry isnt the same as it was then, but yesterday definately kicked it up a notch. Go Yanks!
Greg, you definately are at this game cause this thing would be lit up by now if not. Youre def watching a good one. Great hit by Robbie, terrible slide, shoulda stuck the toe in there, the feet had it beat.
whats new, Melky cant even hit a sac fly. He's a horrible offensive player. I say if Matsui or Damon are out for most of the season they should sign Barry Bonds. He would be a force, especially if he hit in front of Arod.
And much like that yankees classic put me in the mood for some tasty bonus cantos yankee redsock madness.... Gardner delivers the biggest baseknock of his young life.
When he was 0-2 i told my boy he was gonna work an 8 pitch at bat, and he beat me with a 9 pitch clutch single. Safe to say this kid isnt going ANYWHERE anytime soon. Girardi's love for this kid just extended three-fold. He may be the Jeter to his Torre if his regime lasts the next few seasons.
So happy for number 11. Great, great game. Great game moment. Hope you enjoyed it as much as we did, tho you didnt have any Joe Morgan, so you def enjoyed it more.
Whew, Im beat. Bring on dem Rays!!!
I was actually out tonight, but I was able to watch the game. Great game, and I'll be honest, I'm surprised they won it. Great AB for Gardner, and a great win for the Yanks. They need to build off these last two wins.
By the way, what did you mean Derek, when you said this thing would be "lit up by now"?
Well usually when youre around theres lots more input on the game talkbacks, thats all. And I was right after all, it WAS an 8 pitch atbat. Gotta love the fighting spirit. We certainly need that.
I see what you mean. Yea, you're right.
You were also dead on with the Gardner AB, well done. The win tonight was a huge lift for this team, and they, as well as us, get to enjoy the day off tomorrow.
I'm looking forward to watching the '77 All Star Game on YES.
