Matsui Out Until At Least the All Star Break

From Newsday:
Hideki Matsui's balky left knee is bad enough that surgery seems increasingly likely. Even if he does make it through the season without an operation, surgery might be necessary afterward.

Matsui will not take batting practice at least through the weekend and will be re-evaluated early next week. Said Yankees manager Joe Girardi: "There's a chance that he probably won't play before the [All-Star] break."

Matsui had undergone physical therapy the past few days. He said the knee felt somewhat better yesterday but that it still is a problem.
Matsui also said that if he did have surgery it would most likely be season-ending. Let's hope he can get back in the lineup after the break, because they way they're hitting, they obviously need his bat.
