Damn it! Boston is already winning 3-0 over the White Sox. Stupid Gavin Floyd gave up a 3-run bomb to Lowell in the first.

Hopefully the laptop thief gets bombed today.

Greg Cohen said...

Just saw that. Also did you see what Baltimore has already done to Matt Harrison? The Yanks made this bum look great last week, now he's already given up 3 runs in 2 innings to the Orioles. Unreal.

Anonymous said...

Yea I noticed, I can't believe the bum beat us.

Greg Cohen said...

Nice, Dye homered, 3-1 Red Sox now.

Greg Cohen said...

Oh, and now the O's have scored 5 runs in 3 innings off Harrison.

*shakes head in disgust*

Carlos Quentin ties it up!

Anonymous said...

Carlos Quentin just tied it up with a 2-run shot. This guy has been unbelievable this season. He now has 32 homers and 90 RBI.

Greg Cohen said...

Nice!

Anonymous said...

i drafted him and Cliff Lee on my fantasy team last year, just 1 year too soon. Both are nasty now.

JIM THOME!!! White Sox up by 2!!

Greg Cohen said...

They've both had monster years, I still don't know how Lee is doing it.

Anyway, great to see the Sox pound Buchholz.

After listening to the pre-game on YES, this team is in loser denial. Really, this is not a good baseball team and they keep thinking they are.

Greg Cohen said...

What was said? How are they in denial? I'm watching the Sox - Sox game right now so I missed it.

Anonymous said...

Just curious Greg. What's up with the "cocky punk" comment regarding Kennedy? Did he say something or is this just your take?

Greg Cohen said...

His comments after the game on Friday bothered a lot of people. He didn't seem upset at all about the game, and had a stupid smirk on his face.

This is what Peter Abraham just posted on his blog:

"Kennedy also apologized for his comments the other day, saying it didn’t come out the way he wanted. Several players, including Andy Pettitte, spoke to him about how better to express himself in the future."

Apparently his teammates felt he was too cocky in April too, and that he didn't seem to care that he was getting pounded every 5th day.

Greg Cohen said...

Nice start. Even A-Rod got a hit with men on base. A-Mazing.

Anonymous said...

COME ON! 2nd and 3rd no out, 5 and 6 batters up, NO RUNS!?

Greg Cohen said...

Well the good start leads to a wasted opportunity.

2nd and 3rd with nobody out and they can't get another run in? Sad. And why didn't Abreu either slide, or run right into Napoli there?

Anonymous said...

they will regret that

Jason from The Heartland said...

Hi everyone. Good that the Yankees got 2 runs, bad that they didn't get more--they should have.

Anonymous said...

I guarantee you that the angels score those 2 runs there. no question about it.

Greg Cohen said...

I have to agree anon. They get those runs in.

Jason from The Heartland said...

I was glad to see Kennedy, aka Alfred E. Neumann, get sent down. Maybe he can get his head as well as his pitching together. He seems to be a tweener to me--too good for SWB, not good enough for the majors.

Greg Cohen said...

Supposedly they sent him down and told him to work on his 2-seamer and curveball. They want him to learn how to pitch. We'll see if it works. Although I don't think we will find out until 2009.

Jason from The Heartland said...

No question about that, Greg. Kennedy probably won't be back this year. He didn't change speeds well Friday night at all. Giese showed him how to yesterday.

Pettite with a 1-2-3. His last two starts have been atrocious.

Jason from The Heartland said...

The White Sox are up 5-3 in the bottom of the fifth, runners at the corners.

Anonymous said...

one guy who doesnt have to "learn" how to pitch- Johan Santana.

White Sox add another run 6-3, still threatening.

Greg Cohen said...

6-3 now, Uribe reached on an error.

Jason from The Heartland said...

Good. I'm glad Floyd righted his ship. He's been pretty good this year.

Greg Cohen said...

Yea he has been very solid.

Jason from The Heartland said...

Nice K of Hunter. Hold it here, Pettite.

Jason from The Heartland said...

On Floyd, I live in the Midwest and Floyd gets a lot of publicity, not without reason. I listened to a game via radio that he pitched early in the season, when he flirted with a no-hitter. He's been very good.

First and second now. C'mon, Andy. Get Kendrick the Yankee Killer.

Anonymous said...

here come the Red Sox. Damn it.

Anonymous said...

yes! that was big. come on offense, score some more.

Jason from The Heartland said...

Love the strike-'em-out, throw-'em-out DPs. Runs now, please.

Anonymous said...

bullshit hits

Anonymous said...

have you ever seen a luckier team than the angels?

Anonymous said...

Tampa up 3-0.

Anonymous said...

white sox walk 3 red sox, about to blow the lead. things continue to fall apart for the yankees. we need to win A game.

Jason from The Heartland said...

Yanks tie it up and are threatening. I really like Nady. The guy hits and he did a good job breaking up the DP. They need more, though.

Jason from The Heartland said...

The bottom of the Yanks order sucks.

Anonymous said...

yep

Anonymous said...

well what do you know, man on 3rd 1 out- NO RUN! Have they ever heard of situational hitting. They need to fire Kevin Long, get Rudy Jaramillo out of Texas to be the hitting coach.

Anonymous said...

RED SOX LOSE! WIN THIS GAME!

Anonymous said...

Again, guy stranded on 3rd. Lead off double, cant get him in. What a joke.

Anonymous said...

we should have at least 7 or 8 runs so far.

Anonymous said...

FUCK, AROD!!!!!!!

M-Rod said...

i crap bigger than the rally monkey LET'S GO YANKS!!!!

Anonymous said...

what the fuck!? what is up with girardi's man love for betemit??? you don't bring him in to pinch hit, you bring in giambi

Anonymous said...

I can see it now... tied going into the bottom of the 9th; bring in Rivera.... mayhem ensues.

Anonymous said...

not on the road other anon

Anonymous said...

wow you were right, here comes Mo. I think this is enough pressure for him to do good. Usually they let other guys lose the game, they really need this one.

Anonymous said...

WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT CANO? LAYOUT FOR CHRISTS SAKE! WHY ARE YOU JOGGING TO THE BALL??????AND THE SEASON IS NOW OVER. LETS GO 2009 YANKEES!

Greg Cohen said...

Why does Girardi always wait so long to take a pitcher out? One base runner in the 9th wasn't enough, ya really had to wait for two before you took out Damaso Marte?

By the way, how badly does this team need Kyle Farnsworth right now?

And Betemit should have been released months ago, there is no reason this bum should be on this team.

I'm so fed up with this team right now. So many choke-artists who don't know how to do the things you need to win a baseball game.

Anonymous said...

This team is fucking dead.

Anonymous said...

after the top of the first inning I knew they'd lose somehow. you cant leave guys on base like this. its pathetic. hit the ball, give your self up and we score a run. i can understand 1 or 2 times but more than that is really bad. we really could have won all 3 of these games, especially today and yesterday. if we have any chance we have to finish up like 32-13 or something like that. with this team, its not happeneing.

M-Rod said...

guess praying to the dark lord doesn't guarantee a win against the halos. FUUUUUUCK

Anonymous said...

o and.......ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL? I know I am.

Anonymous said...

yeah, maybe we always lose to the angels because I, for one dont believe in god.

Anonymous said...

and this is why we need Manny next year. He will get those guys in.

Greg Cohen said...

That's one thing I will agree with about Manny, he's always been an RBI machine.

M-Rod said...

ok now we must crush the twinkies. no not the BIG twinkie that represented the amount of telekenetic energy in the city of new york from ghostbusters, i mean the twinkies from minnesota. yeah i know, just bear with me. this team is driving me to drink

Anonymous said...

Cashman may have lost his job with these trades this year.

Nady has been good, but Marte stinks.

Pudge has been non-exsistent at the plate, and he can't call a game for his life.

Meanwhile the pen has been a disaster since Farnsy got traded.

Greg Cohen said...

I agree about the trades, they all look like they're coming back to haunt the Yanks now. And you forgot to mention how good Karstens has looked also.

Anyway, thanks for all the comments people.

Anonymous said...

Cashman's an idiot. He's the biggest waste there is. He basically traded away 4 potential minor league players for Nady. That is as dumb as it gets. Now, what he has done with that trade is put us in no-man's land. If he makes another trade in the off-season then he will have depleted our minors and if he doesn't this team will stink. Absolutely pathetic.

And, bringing in a new catcher in the middle of a penant race with our young pitchers was SUICIDE. Furthermore, he has put us in this horrible offensive situation for years. The bums he signs and extends is hilarious. They are all .250 hitters who either hit into a DP, strikeout, pop out or hit a HR. We have no situational hitting whatsoever. I absolutely HATE this current team. Nothing but a bunch of overpaid, overhyped, overrated BUMS.

This team will never win anything with Arod, Cano or Jeter. Jeter is an old man. He stinks. He has no range at SS, he is absolutely killing us defensively and he is nothing but a wiffle-ball bat swinger with his girlie slap hits. Of course, Cano is just a lazy 2B with no range whatsoever.

This team needs an overhaul bad. I seriously can't believe I have to watch Arod for another 9 years. That is pitiful. Arod is not a gamer.

If I was Cashman I would sign Tex and Manny in the off-season. That would instantly upgrade our offense. And, I would do just about anything to get a real #1 like CC or something close. Although the huge contracts of Arod, Jeter, Giambi, etc... are killing this team, they have to do something in the off-season to nail the above mentioned names.

Put a fork in 'em they are done.....This team has no heart, Melky can't hit his way out of a paper bag, and I am sick and tired of guys showing no emotion whatsoever after a loss. Time for Girardi to stat putting a boot up some backsides and he can start with Melky......
