Game Time: 7:05 p.m.

Here are the lineups:

YANKEES

Robinson Cano 2B
Brett Gardner CF
Jose Molina C

Andy Pettitte LHP (12-9, 4.32 ERA)

ROYALS

Gil Meche RHP (10-9, 4.24 ERA)

Notes:
Nice lineup Joe, I approve. ... Andy Pettitte is 12-3 with a 3.58 ERA lifetime against the Royals. This season he's 1-0 with a 7.42 ERA in two starts against KC. ... Gil Meche is 3-4 with a 4.64 ERA against the Yankees in his career. ... I was told by a friend that Joe Girardi told Mike Francessa that Gardner will be the everyday centerfielder, and Damon will be the everyday DH.

I agree with you GC, the lineup looks good. Gotta start winning NOW.

Well, something new....can't get the runner home from 2nd with no outs. The great Jeter can't even move the runner over.

Cashman should have demoted Jeter, Giambi and Arod along with Melky. No wonder we can't win. 3 guys making $70 million can't hit, or field for that matter. It must be those damn injuries eh Hank *wink**wink*.

Damon is the best, damon is the best. He is the best hitter with RISP. SHUT UP KAY.

Great managing by Girardi again. Great callup. Brett "I can't hit the broad side of a barn" Gardner. Smoooth, Cashman real smooth.

1st and 2nd no outs. THIS TEAM SUCKS. It must be the injuries.

Man.

Man alive.

This team is the chokeiest bunch of chokes I've ever seen. This is reminiscent of the famed collapse against the Sox in '04 after being up 3-0.

I said this before, but I'm abundantly glad now moreso than ever that they're moving into the new stadium. This team is living on past laurels and just pretending that they don't actually have to DO anything to win baseball games.

Maybe not making the playoffs for the first time in 13 years will be the kind of wake up call they need.

This has just been one of the ugliest seasons I can remember in so many ways.

And as for Mo - Every time he comes into a tie ball game I think to myself that he just CAN'T keep allowing runs in those situations, that eventually no matter how bad of a pitcher you are you come in and have a scoreless inning every once in a while, and EVERY time Mo just finds a new way to give up runs.

This is a sad, pathetic, disappointing team in so many ways, and they just keep finding new lows.
