Red Sox Fan Sues Yankees

From SI.com:
A Boston Red Sox fan sued the New York Yankees and two of its fans Tuesday, alleging he was attacked at Yankee Stadium last summer.

In a suit filed in Manhattan federal court, Charles Hillios said he was harassed by two Yankees fans who objected to him cheering for the Red Sox last Aug. 29.

The Massachusetts resident said in the suit that security warned the Yankees fans to leave him alone. But he said the fans "viciously attacked and physically assaulted" him when he went to a concession stand.

According to the lawsuit, Hillios suffered serious injuries. It seeks unspecified financial penalties.
First of all, this lawsuit is a joke, and he better not win. But what did this idiot expect? Yankees fans to welcome him with open arms? I don't think so. It's not like Fenway is a nice place to go for Yankees fans, and you know what? It shouldn't be.

Second, I've got a solution for Charles and any other scared Red Sox fan, never step into to Yankee Stadium ever again. Just stay away and Yankees fans will never bother you.

Aww....someones mad that Manny was traded and Papi is about to go back on the DL.

yeah hopefully, Papi felt a "click" in his wrist.

About the story, that stuff happens all the time. Pu$$y Sox fans.

I don't know what really happened during that game but that man has every right to go to Yankee Stadium and not be beaten up, if that really happened. Human life trumps a baseball game.

And everybody has the right to go to any stadium and enjoy a ballgame without being harassed. The lawsuit might be BS, but the blogger who threatened Red Sox Fans to never come to Yankee Stadium is indicative of the type of rabble that populate 161 and River. Seriously, get some perspective on your life. Yankee fans are the biggest lot of miscreants on this planet.

That's the dumbest comment I've ever seen. I'm a Tigers fan that lives in Chicago, I go down to US Cell every time the Tigers are in town (tonight included). I've never had White Sox fans be anything but polite and respectful (and I show up in a Magglio Ordonez jersey to boot). Sure, there is friendly ribbing, but it's all in good fun and I find myself making conversation with Sox fans around me. There's obviously a certain respect I give to the home fans, and it's possible that this guy wasn't being as polite. But to suggest that Red Sox fans never show up to Yankee Stadium, well that's just stupid beyond belief. I will say, when I made a trip to Yankee Stadium last year I encountered no ill will from Yankees fans.

Anonymous Red Sox fan,

I did not threaten anyone. I'm just saying if you are a Red Sox fan and don't want to be yelled at, maybe it's a good idea to stay away from Yankee Stadium.

Like I said, Fenway is no fun for Yankees fans, and I'm happy about that, it shouldn't be.

uhh, your comparing apples and oranges there buddy. Red Sox/ Yankees is a whole different monster. White Sox/ Tigers?? not even close to being the same as Sox-Yanks. Do you know how much we hate eachother?

Yankees - Red Sox is far different from any rivalry in the game. And to bring up Tigers vs. White Sox is just silly. Yankees and Red Sox fans hate each other... A lot.

Also I'm sure Charles was being an idiot. I've been to over 30 Yankees - Red Sox games and I've never seen a Red Sox fan abused unless they acted like a fool.

And I'm not condoning violence. It's not OK to beat up other team's fans. But if it happens to some jerk off Red Sox fan I'm not gonna lose any sleep.

I certainly agree that Yankees/BoSox is a much much much more heated rivalry than Tigers/ChiSox (trust me, we're all well aware considering that's the only game Fox and ESPN play on national broadcasts). It wasn't my intention to compare rivalries by any stretch of the imagination, but rather point out how incredibly stupid it is that sports fans fight each other at games.

Do I find it stupid to get into a fight at a baseball game? Yes.

Do I find it even dumber to sue a team because you happened to get into a fight? Yes.

And if a Red Sox fan is afraid of Yankee Stadium, and our fans, the solution would be to just stay away.

What a clever idea! Now I'm gonna sue Osama bin Laden for disturbing the peace of my mind.
