Since tonight's game could be a washout, here's a rumor to take a look at from MLB Trade Rumors:
Tracy Ringolsby of the Rocky Mountain News thinks the Rockies are primed for a major shakeup this winter. Specifically, GM Dan O'Dowd could move two star players in Matt Holliday and Garrett Atkins.
Ringolsby figures the Phillies, Angels, Rays, Yankees, and Red Sox will be the main suitors for Holliday. The 28 year-old is hitting .311/.403/.492 on the road this year, suggesting he could be a .900 OPS masher in any park. I'm not seeing the fit for the Red Sox, while the Yanks could work Holliday in if they let Jason Giambi and Bobby Abreu leave. The other three teams also make sense in certain scenarios. But do the Phillies have the top-level pitching needed to acquire Holliday? It's been suggested in the past that dark horses such as the Royals or Nationals could enter the mix for the slugger.
One of my biggest concerns with Holiday are his home/road splits. Lifetime he is hitting .321/.387/.555, sick numbers, but is he a product of Coors Field and it's thin air?
His numbers at home are absolutely insane; .360/.426/.651, but away from Coors Field he is just hitting .281/.347/.456, still good but nowhere near his career or home numbers. The one thing I don't want is for the Yankees to trade for a .320 hitter and get a .280 hitter.
Another good thing about Holiday he's a good fielder. He's ranked second for left fielders in zone rating (.899) and third in fielding percentage (.991), and last season he was second in both zone rating (.913) and fielding percentage (.990). The Yankees do need to improve their defense, and Holiday would certainly help.
I think the Yankees should at least strongly consider trading for Holiday. He will certainly cost a lot, so the Yanks should be careful who they give up. But he's a better hitter, and a better fielder than Abreu, and he's six years younger, so it's definitely an improvement.

Git 'er done Cashman!
Trade Hughes, can Holiday in pinstripes.
They don't need a second basemen with Ian Stewart but Melky, Hughes, and other top level prospects could be in play. AJax and Montero certainly will be in discussions.
Im all for getting guys that will come to Ny and play hard. Not the crap we have been seeing for the past 5 yrs
