Frank Torre Blasts Yanks

From the Adam Rubin:
Joe Torre's brother took swipes at the Yankees Friday for what he deemed shoddy treatment during their breakup.

"I wonder what the Yankees are thinking now while they're fishing or doing whatever," Frank Torre said on the field at Citizens Bank Park before Game 2 of the NLCS, as quoted by USA Today. "I have friends there. I will always root for Derek Jeter. But what they did to my brother was not right. Really, it was pathetic what they did. There was no class.

"I hear Hank Steinbrenner say, 'Where would Joe Torre be without the Yankees?' Well, let me tell you, Hank Steinbrenner was fortunate he was born in the Steinbrenner family. His inheritance is a whole lot bigger now than it would have been if not for my brother. I think he gained a lot more money than my brother after all of those World Series.

"My brother won't say anything, but he was hurt."

I can't say I disagree with anything Frank says here, so I'll just leave it at that.

You gotta give the media some blame too, they keep asking the questions.

yeah but its their job to do that. the higher the quality of the inside poop you get, the better the payday.

Greg,

The Media does ask too much Questions. You have to give people some brakes.

Godriguez,

Your also right about the Media doing there job. They get payed for it.

But after getting fired by the yankees, I think you should leave the poor guy alone.

Have to add, Joe didn't get "fired" by the Yankees. They offered him a one year contract with incentives. He turned it down. Let's remember the facts. Personally, I didn't think their offer was that out of bounds.

it's my opinion the offered was structured in way that the yanks knew joe torre would turn it down. Thus, they would not have to fire a popular manager.

No balls.

Joe didnt get fired he turned down an offer to be the highest paid manager in the game in a 1 year deal. they should stop the whining. what a classless family they probably deserved the beatings their daddy gave them. Hopefully the warranty on the heart he got from the Bronx runs out soon.
