LCS Matchups Set

The Red Sox just beat the Angels 3-2 to move on to the ALCS for the second straight year.

The Angels did have a chance to extend the series tonight. With the score tied at two in the 9th LA had a runner on third with one out and Erick Aybar at the plate. Mike Scioscia- for some stupid reason - called for a suicide squeeze, Aybar missed the bunt, and Willits, who was on third, was caught in a rundown. I know this is how the Angels play, but to me this was not the time for a suicide squeeze. Aybar won last night's game with a base hit, let the guy swing away and see what happens.

In the bottom half of the inning Jason Bay hit a one out ground-rule double, and then two batters later Boston scored the series winning run on a Jed Lowrie RBI single. They would have scored the run one batter earlier, but Mark Teixeira robbed Mark Kotsay of a game winning hit down the line with a great diving play.

Earlier in the day the very surprising Tampa Bay Rays beat the White Sox 6-2 to advance to the ALCS. Game one between Boston and Tampa will be on Friday in Tampa.

In that National League Joe Torre's Dodgers will take on the Philadelphia Phillies. Game on of that series will be on Thursday in Philly.

Both series should be very good, hard fought series. The Rays and Sox don't like each other, so there could be some fireworks along the way. And the Phillies - Dodgers should also be a good one as well.

I'm rooting for the Dodgers and the Rays; I'm a big Joe Torre fan, and I hate the Boston Red Sox with a passion. But as for my predictions, I'll say Boston in six, and the Dodgers also in six.

the phillies and dodgers is a great matchup, its tough to call the winner, someone in 6 or 7 games. i like the phillies lefthanded bats vs the dodgers right handed starters, but manny has made that lineup great.

I also have a prediction for the World Series.

Rays in 7, but the seventh game goes to 13 innings and Floyed will hit a walk off double.
