A-Rod will play for the Dominican Republic in WBC

A-Rod confirmed what David Ortiz said a few days ago, saying that he is playing for the Dominican Republic in the upcoming World Baseball Classic.

Rodriguez made the announcement while playing at a charity golf tournament hosted by friend David Ortiz of the Boston Red Sox.

"I am "100 percent sure that I will play for the Dominican Republic team," Rodriguez said. "This time, there will be no doubts, and it is a dream of my mom's that I intend to fulfill."

"It will be a very special day for me and my family to see me play again with a Dominican uniform," Rodriguez said.

That will be one sick lineup; Albert Pujols, Alex Rodriguez, Jose Reyes, Alfonso Soriano, Vladimir Guerrero, Hanley Ramirez, Robinson Cano, Manny Ramirez, and David Ortiz are some players who may end up playing on that team.

I hope people will leave him alone about this. On my blog I've been hearing how "un-American" he is. It's just a baseball tournament!

People won't, you know that.

Proves A Rod is the flip flop he is. I am glad he is a Yankee, because of his talent, but I can see why he is not liked by many.

He thinks because of his big head that everyone is jealous of him because of that talent, and some might. But its because he is not genuine.

That is a amazing lineup, but you also need pichting. I can't realy think of a pitcher at the moment.

Here's the 2006 Dominican team's pitching staff:

Miguel Batista
Eude Brito
Daniel Cabrera
Bartolo Colon
Francisco Liriano
Damaso Marte
Odalis Perez
Fernando Rodney
Duaner Sanchez
Jorge Sosa
Julian Tavarez
Robinson Tejeda
Salomon Torres

Not too good, but this year's team will be a lot different. There are a lot of good young pitchers like Edinson Volquez, Johnny Cueto, Ubaldo Jimenez, Fausto Carmona, and Ervin Santana who are all Dominican.

Honestly, to anyone making knocks on A-Rod for this really needs to cool it. You cannot twist this story in any possible way to look at it as something he is doing wrong.
