Jorge Posada told The Post today that he, Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera and Andy Pettitte want to attend A-Rod's news conference at George M. Steinbrenner Field next week when Rodrigiuez plans to discuss his steroid-tainted past.
As of this afternoon, the Yankees and the Rodriguez camp were still deliberating the size and the scope of a news conference. But if it is done in a formal way, Posada said the players with the longest history with the organization want to attend as a way to show support and solidarity toward Rodriguez.Good move by the Yanks, this is what they should do.
"We'll be there," Posada said."Obviously, we have to ask Alex if it is OK, but if he says yes, we will go with him. I think it will be the guys who have been here the longest and anyone else that Alex might want."
But why do they have to ask A-Rod's if it's OK?

They don't have much choice, do they?
I guess you have a point.
Q. But why do they have to ask A-Rod's if it's OK?
A. Prima donnas love and need to be the one and only attraction on the stage.
Posada said they need to ask because that's the way you do it. You don't force yourself into someone else's press conference. While there's no way Alex doesn't want them there, it's common courtesy... when you show support for someone and stick up for them, you want to make sure they want the support in the manner that you're offering.
Mo Rivera looking good on his rookie card-

Exactly Anon.
Hate to say it but Derek Jeter is a bad dresser.
I can't help but look at that picture and think "don't take sides against the family." Not that that will stop the press from being ruthless as usual.
