Burnett Throws Simulated Game

Burnett threw 28 pitches in two innings of a simulated game today.

From Marc Carig:

The right-hander said he felt stronger in the second inning, when he threw 13 pitches. Burnett focused on locating his fastball low and away, what he called his "bread and butter." Jorge Posada caught Burnett's session.

"Everything's going good," he said. "I'm a big fan of the way we're taking it, getting up to Sunday. I'm feeling strong, everything feels great. It's coming out real good right now."

Burnett will make his first spring start on Sunday against the Tigers.

If Burnett can duplicate his last season and win 18 games, this team has a great shot to win 100 games.

I agree, I'd even go as high as 105, maybe even more.

An effective Burnett makes this rotation ridiculous.

Do you think there's a chance this season will be another 1998? I think it's possible.

If everything falls into place there's a chance. But how rarely does everything fall into place?

true. for the past 8 years, nothing has.

Also, do you think that when Teix leaves or retires, he will leave a big impact on the Yankees like Tino Martinez or Donnie Baseball did?

Uh-oh, A-Rod's hurt.

He injured his hip and this might force him to miss the WBC. (if it's serious, The Yankees will make him)

I heard about his hip - just posted about it. He needs to get himself right and ready for the regular season.c

As for Tex, I hope his Yankee career is that good that he leaves a void when he leaves.
