- The Yankees also received good new from Mariano Rivera after his bullpen session yesterday.
- Ben K. over at River Ave. Blues has a nice breakdown of the Yankees defense using John Dewan's plus/minus system, and unlike last year it turns out that they won't be half bad this year.

- Instead of the usual fielding drills the Yankees pitchers played a hybrid game of golf and baseball during yesterday's workout (pictured below), something Girardi called the WBC Ryder Cup. It was A.J. Burnett's idea:
“It really helps the bonding, it helps the guys get together, and it’s not the same day-in, day-out stuff,” said Burnett, one of the Yankees’ new highly paid recruits. After Burnett made the suggestion, Girardi gave it some thought, walked back to him and said, “Hey, we’re going to do your golf game.”
