News and Notes: According to Peter Abraham Jorge Posada's shoulder felt better today, and he will throw tomorrow and may be able to DH in the game. ... After receiving treatment for retinal cancer, Jason Johnson has been cleared to begin throwing. ... CC Sabathia's simulated game has been pushed back until tomorrow due to bad weather. ... The Yankees in the WBC - Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, Robinson Cano, and Damaso Marte - will be leaving the team following the game. ... Bryan Hoch is reporting that Kanekoa Texeira has food poisoning. ... Edwar Ramirez will play catch tomorrow.

UPDATE 1:44 p.m.: Yanks up 2-0... RBI double for A-Rod, RBI single for Cano....

Reds come right back and take a 3-2 lead in the bottom half. The big blow was a 2-run home run off the bat of Chris Dickerson.

UPDATE 2:07 p.m.: Gardner goes yard again, 3-3 game.

UPDATE 2:26 p.m.: Dickerson drives in another run, 4-3 Reds.

UPDATE 2:36 p.m.: Robinson Cano and John Rodriguez both hit solo homers in the top of the 4th off David Weathers to give the Yanks a 5-4 lead.

UPDATE 2:41 p.m.: J.B. Cox gives the run right back, the game is tied at 5.

UPDATE 3:14 p.m.: The Yankees took an 8-5 lead in the top of the 5th with a 3-run double by Robinson Cano. The Reds scored two in the bottom half to cut the lead to 8-7. Joey Votto and Dickerson both went yard.

UPDATE 3:31 p.m.: The Yanks increased their lead to 11-7 with three runs in the top of the 6th. Austin Jackson drove in a run, Eduardo Nunez and Justin Leone both had an RBI singles.

UPDATE 3:35 P.M.: Laynce Nix just hit a solo homer off Brian Bruney to cut it to 11-8.

UPDATE 3:47 p.m.: Craig Tatum just hit a grand slam off Christian Garcia. 12-11 Reds.

UPDATE 4:08 p.m.: The Reds scored another run, it's 13-11 now. The run came in on a passed ball by Jesus Montero. He apparently hurt his leg on the play and left the game. But Peter Abraham says it does appear to be serious.

They can't do that. CC had his simulated game pushed back today, and I don't know even know how ready Burnett is.

Melancon is pitching now.
