- Brian Cashman said that Alex Rodriguez won't return to Tampa until Thursday, after the Yankees head north. "He won't be back until after we are out of here," the GM said. "He's continuing to make progress, that's just the way it works out."
- Over at the minor league complex Chien-Ming Wang will start for Triple-A Scranton as they take on the Triple-A Indianapolis. Wang is scheduled to throw 90-95 pitches. His next start will be the exibition game against the Cubs on April 3rd. Jorge Posada will be doing the catching, and Nick Swisher and Hideki Matsui are also going to be in the Scranton lineup.

Despite his success as an accomplished recording musician, former Yankees star Bernie Williams would love to give baseball another try.
Williams, who spent 16 seasons with the Yankees from 1991-2006, told reporters prior to a Friday taping of the show "CenterStage" on the YES Network that his participation in the World Baseball Classic with Puerto Rico renewed his interest in returning to the big leagues.
"I felt really good about playing," Williams said. "I am my worst critic and I didn't feel very bad about it. It took me a while to get acclimated. But after a while, I felt very encouraged.
"I can still play," added Williams, who was 0-for-5 with two walks in four games with Puerto Rico.
Williams, 40, has not asked his agent to contact any Major League teams. He would not reveal if he'd be willing to play with any club other than the Yankees.

Looks like Tomko is going to get the long reliever job. Good for him. Who really thought he had a chance when he was signed? I know I didn't.
I didn't think he had a chance either. Hopefully he can help the team.
Yeah I think Tomko will be good out of the pen, and no problem for the lineups.
