Yanks Cut Eight

According to Peter Abraham the Yankees reassigned these players to minor-league camp today: OF Todd Linden, 1B-OF Shelley Duncan, OF John Rodriguez, INF Doug Bernier, INF Justin Leone, C P.J. Pilittere, C Chris Stewart and RHP Dave Robertson.

The Yankees are now down to just 31 players including A-Rod, which means there are just five cuts left.

lol, I like Duncan too, he's got a great attitude and all his teammates seem to like him, but right now there's just no place for him.

wow.. some of those are surprising. Shelley? Dave Robertson? We must be really really loaded if we cant keep those guys.

not really, Shelley wasnt on the team last year, and Robertson was not great last year, average at best.

ur right Joe.. i didnt read this first sentence of the story.. they're just getting reassigned... i just read the title and thought they flat out cut these guys, meaning that they wouldnt be in the minor leagues with the Yankees.. my mistake

Hey Bentton, or should I say The Chosen One. I think we'll see Shelley at some point this year, probably when the rosters expand to 40. Hopefully they don't need him, because that would mean there were several serious injuries.

I also think David Robertson will be in the bullpen at some point this year. He's got good stuff he just needs to work on some things.
