On the new stadium:
"It's gorgeous, I mean it's gigantic but it's like, gorgeous," Giambi said of his first impressions of the new Yankee Stadium. "I'm sure it's like when people first walked into the Titanic, when they first walked into that place. I mean it's enormous. I was excited to come back and see the new Stadium. It's an incredible place."On playing in New York:
"There is no real place on the planet like this," Giambi said. "I gave my heart and soul when I played here, there's no doubt about it. You know, every day, showing up ready to play. I had some good times and some bad times, but for the most part, I look at them as they were incredible times."
"I had a great time, I had fun here coming every day and playing in front of a packed house," Giambi said. "It was exciting. But it's also fun to be back where you started from, kind of that full circle."
"The biggest thing I miss is (the Bleacher Creatures') roll call," Giambi said of the tradition that has carried across the street. "There's no doubt about it, it's the best thing in baseball."He also said he'd like to hit his first homer of the season in the new stadium:
"I'd like to hit my first one here," he said. "I'll take it."With that jetstream in right field I don't think that going to be too much of a problem for the Giambino.

I have to admit that I initially liked the Yankees signing Giambi and personally think he's not the worst character in the game. Unfortunately,to me, he was really the first in a long line of short sighted fixes the Yankees tried to throw their money at, and didn't pan out long term. His signing to me kinda was the reality that the "old" Yankee dynasty was over. From there it just went bad:Randy,Sheffield,Pavano,Weaver, Vasquez...
i always like giambi. sometimes he said the wrong thing or sounded like he was patting himself on the back too much when he hit a big homer and discussed it in post game interviews, but i always liked him.
i wouldnt mind if he hit his first homer here, as long as its in a win for us (kind of like a solo shot in a 9 run game lol)
To hell with that Anon, he's wearing different laundry now. I hope he gets the ol' Golden Sombrero.
I enjoyed Giambinos time here. Sure there was that whole "that stuff" incident but he handled it well and played hard. His body broke down some years but he was not a terrible person, hes got a big personality which I think helped some. I would not mind seeing him hit a homer, and with the way the field plays it can certainly happen, but it should happen when we blow them out.

he will get the roll call in the first
Oh yes he did rich, I was at the game in the bleachers and we got him he definately responded. Swisher is awesome he loves playing with the right field bleacher creatures. Sorry it was my first game this year and besides having my car impounded because its ass end was in a no parking zone. And having to chase it all over the bronx, and the 11 dollar philly cheesesteaks i mean awesome time lol.
