- There will be more than 40 former Yankees on hand for the festivities, including Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford, Reggie Jackson, Willie Randolph, Rich "Goose" Gossage and many more (full list below).
- Yogi Berra will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch.
- Kelly Clarkson will be singing the national anthem.
- A unit of F-16C Flying Falcons will fly over the stadium following the national anthem.
- The home plate and pitching rubber that will be used tomorrow are the ones that were used in the final game at the original Yankee Stadium.
- Prior to the game the West Point Marching Band will be performing John Philip Sousa's "Washington Post March" and "Stars and Stripes Forever" in a tribute to the original Yankee Stadium's opener back in 1923, when Sousa performed on field with the Seventh Regiment Band.

Yes they do. From this opening day ceremony to giving flowers to the wives of the newly acquired free agents. Everything little detail is done with the highest of class.
