Joba battled through 5.1 innings. Yanks take a 4-2 lead into the ninth and Mo gives up a two-run homer to Jason Bay with two outs. Two innings later Damaso Marte gives up the game-winner to Kevin Youkilis. Awful.
I'm sorry, I'm tired and pissed off so I don't have much to say about the game tonight. It was painful, that's for sure. And it was a game the Yankees should have won and should have won easily. They squandered many opportunities to put this game away, going 4-for-19 with runners in scoring position. When that happens you deserve to lose. When that happens and you have the bases loaded with nobody out in the top of the ninth and can't score, you really deserve to lose. When you go 4-for-19 with RISP, and don't score after having the bases loaded with nobody out in the top of the ninth, and Mariano Rivera blows a save, you probably deserve to lose two in a row.
Hopefully A.J. can get the job done tomorrow and get this team a win.

I didn't like Garnder sac bunting with Posada at first. Posada is way too slow you would have to lay down a perfect bunt. Gardner couldn't bunt to the third base side because the thirdbasemen was right on top of him. And you knew Youkillis was going to charge hard from first because we already bunted twice to the first base side succuesfully. I agree with David Cone I would of did a butcher boy with Gardner at bat.
And then a horrible at bat by Cano, he swung on the first pitch with Gardner on 1st. Can you atleast give Gardner a chance to steal he is pretty much a lock to steal the base.
And then of course Melky hits into a double play. Melky is turing into a homerun or a strike out/double play every at bat.
Melky sucks. He left 6 men on base and is always a rally killer. This team is filled with so much garbage its pathetic. We see it over and over again that Cashman is not fit to be a GM. He is clueless. $200m and this is the best he can do? Go work on a garbage truck Cashman, that's where you belong.
And, Mo has been doing this crap since 2001. He is not a closer anymore. WAKE UP YANKEES!
There were so many things in this game that really bothered me I don't even know where to start. I feel like blowing the bases loaded with nobody out spot combined with Mo blowing the save pretty much summed up the night.
You win some, you lose some. Mariano doesn't save every game. It sucks but it's going to happen sometimes.
What's ridiculous is that it's two times in two games now they've had the bases loaded with no outs and scored no runs. You can hit into a double play and score a run in that situation, but nope can't even manage that.
Now I'm officially missing Bobby Abreu.
Sooo many lost opportunities. But just tell me why we did not pitch around Youk??!!!
I'm back! Last nights game was not good.
Greg, the game is on FOX not on YES.
Hey Liam, welcome back!
And thanks, I forgot it was on Fox for some reason. Maybe because of the ten beers I drank... Yeah, that had to be it.
LOL!
What's funny, Liam?
