They should transport the upper decks to the new stadium

I miss that upper deck too. I love the way it hung over the field.

these pics remind me of Tino's Grand Slam wow with all the beer spilling pretty much rocking the upper deck back and forth, now with a crane and destruction team tearing it down. just so sad. we as True Yankee fans don't need a centerfield sports bar or Tommy Bahama friggin martini club we come to the stadium to see a BALLGAME and watch the Yanks that is why the old stadium is perfect- we got to in my opinion Influence games in our favor with the bleachers, overhanging upper deck, now we have cushioned seats and a hard rock cafe.

I was in the upper deck for that game, and got hit in the head with not one, but two beer cups. Luckily all the beer had spilled out before the cup hit me. It was awesome.

Unfortunately its not the low to middle class minds that were behind the new stadium. They never experienced sitting in those bleachers or upper decks. They prob barely heard the roar of the game from their owner suite.

Sad but true.

Which do you think is more painful... watching the stadium be disassembled piece by piece, or dealing with what Mets fans did, and showing up on opening day and finding any and all remnants of the stadium completely gone?

It sucks how there's no game today, I have to see these pics, and on top of all that I had my wisdom teeth removed earlier. Its a painful day

Greg Cohen said...

I've had mine removed, it sucks.

Scott, if I was a Mets fan I would have been happy to see Shea go. If Yankee Stadium was taken down that quickly, though, it would have been crushing. I'm not sure this is any better, but that would have been really bad.

I only ever went to the old stadium once, and looking at these pictures makes me sick. I can't imagine being in the Bronx, and watching it come down piece by piece.
