(Triple-A) Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (36-24) beat Gwinnett (33-28) 9-4: Box Score - Recap

PITCHING: Kei Igawa got the start for SWB. He tossed scoreless 1st and 2nd innings. In the 3rd Gwinnett came up with 4 runs on 5 singles, a double and an error to take a 4-2 lead. In the 4th, Igawa loaded the bases on 2 singles and an intentional walk before being relieved. Igawa's line: 3.1 IP, 4 runs, 8 hits, 4 K's--2 walks, ERA 4.03.

BULLPEN: Edwar Ramirez relieved Igawa with the bases loaded and 1 out in the 4th. He got a strikeout and flyout to get out of the inning. Ramirez threw a perfect 5th and 6th innings picking up 3 more K's. Ramirez retired all 8 men he faced in 2.2 innings with 4 strikeouts.

Jonathan Albaladejo came on to shutout Gwinnett over the final 3 innings allowing only 1 runner to reach, on an error. Albaladejo picked up 3 strikeouts, and was credited with the win (1-0).

OFFENSE: The Yanks jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 2nd inning on Todd Linden's solo homer (7). SWB picked up another run in the 3rd. They loaded the bases when Austin Jackson walked, Cody Ransom reached on an error, and Shelley Duncan singled. Juan Miranda followed with a RBI walk to force in a run and give SWB a 2-0 lead. SWB tied the game at 4 with 2 runs in the 4th. Walks to Chris Stewart, Kevin Russo and Cody Ransom loaded the bases. Duncan followed with a 2-run double. The Yanks broke the 4-4 tie in the 8th when they scored 5 runs. Key hits, a 2-run homer by Justin Leone (4), a 2-run double by Doug Bernier, and an RBI single by Linden to give SWB a 9-4 win.

NOTES: Cody Ransom made his 6th rehab appearance, going 0-3 with a walk. Austin Jackson was 0-4 with a walk and scored. He's hitting .335.
