(Triple-A) Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (41-28) lost to Syracuse (37-32) 6-1: Box Score - Recap

PITCHING: Kei Igawa got the start for the Yankees. Igawa shutout Syracuse on a single and walk through the first 3 innings, both coming in the 1st inning. In the 4th, 2 runs scored on a single, double, RBI single, and double play to give Syracuse a 2-1 lead at the time. In the 6th, Syracuse scored 2 unearned runs. Austin Jackson made his 1st error fo the year followed by a 2-run homer to give Syracuse a 4-1 lead. Igawa took the loss (6-2). Igawa's line: 6.0 IP, 4 runs (2 earned), 6 hits, 6 K-2 BB.

BULLPEN: Romulo Sanchez took over in the 7th. He gave up 1 run on an error, stolen base, wild pitch, and RBI single to give Syracuse a 5-1 lead. Sanchez gave up another run in the 8th on a double and RBI single to make it 6-1. Paul Bush came on to pitch a scoreless 9th, picking up 2 K's, and allowing a 2-out single.

OFFENSE: The Yankees broke on top 1-0 in the 3rd when Justin Leone doubled, Kevin Cash walked, and Kevin Russo added an RBI single to give SWB a 1-0 lead after 3 innings. The Yankees were shutout the rest of the way on 2 hits, a double and single by Colin Curtis.

NOTES: Cody Ransom expected to be recalled by NY Wednesday with Xavier Nady beginning his rehab stint at SWB. Austin Jackson made his 10th start of the year in left field. Former Yankee farmhand Tyler Clippard pitched in relief for Syracuse.
