News & Notes
- CC Sabathia has faced the Twins 27 times in his career, in those games he's 12-8 with a 3.12 ERA. The last time he faced them was on June 10th of last year and he pitched a complete game five-hit shutout. He struck out five and did not walk a batter.
- Scott Baker is 2-0, with a 1.50 ERA in two career starts against the Yanks. He's allowed just two earned runs in 12 innings of work.
- The Yankees have won 10 of their last 12. They've also won all four meetings against the Twins this season.
- Alfredo Aceves was named starting pitcher for Thursday. I disagree with this move, but hopefully he goes out and throws a good game. Hopefully it also doesn't screw up the good thing they have going with the bullpen.
- Angel Berroa was released today.

I'm a bit surprised Hinske isn't in there. After his great debut, I think he should at least get another start tonight.
I agree with you on that. I thought for sure Hinske would get penciled in after a great game yesterday. He made that nice catch and hit the HR. I would have benched Swisher for him but I guess it was because Swisher had a good day too.

So how's everyone doing tonight? Hope you all had a great holiday weekend.
hey greg here chillin had a great fourth of july with the family.
Nice.
you suck TEX, can even get the ball out of the infield, whatever your doing, stop, for as hot as you were earlier, you are so fucking cold now, your in siberia,
That was a hell of a play by Gomez... Mario, Tex is 2-for-3 with an RBI. Broken bat hits or not, he's had a good game.
Cano does it again!
thank god the allstar game is coming up, CANO needs to take a vacation, clear his head, if thats possible for him...
The guy just can't hit with men on. It's pathetic.
come on CANO, bases loaded AGAIN, just takes 1 hit to get out of the funk your in, come on, be paitent he just walked swisher
there ya go, there ya go, now build on that baby
the streak is over!!!!!!!
It's about time... Now he's 1-for-23... It's a start.
Why is gerardi such a tool and shafting hughes - I sure hope the grand plan is now not to make aceves a starter - I really don't buy this hughes isn't stretched out enough, but wang needs starts to strengthen up.
Hughes has become such a weapon in the pen right now, they don't want to mess with it. I thought they should have felt the same way about Aceves.
I don't mind Aceves getting the start. I hope he returns to the pen when Wang comes back (assuming he isn't out long), but we'll see...
I'd rather have Aceves start than Hughes. I really, really like Hughes in the pen right now. Plus, Aceves pitches multiple innings from the pen all the time, where I don't think Hughes has even once.
