News & Notes
- CC Sabathia has faced the Angels 13 times and in those games he's 5-6 with a 4.56 ERA. He faced then on May 2nd at Yankee Stadium and allowed 5 runs (4 earned) on 8 hits in 6.2 innings on his was to a loss.
- In 15 starts against the Yanks, John Lackey is 4-7, with a 4.81 ERA. The last time he beat the Yankees was on 5/27/2007 in The Bronx.
- The Yankees are 5-16 in Anaheim since 2005.
- In his last 16 games Alex Rodriguez is hitting .407/.554/.870 with 8 HR and 22 RBI.
- Put this guy in the damn rotation! Sergio Mitre's line from Scranton today: 8 IP, 6 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K, and 64 of his 84 pitches were strikes. Besides the fact that the bullpen needs Alfredo Aceves, I think Mitre will be a better starter than Ace.

wow..nice start from mitre...he definitely should get the spot in the rotation...
Perfect DP ball again from the captain. Is this all he does? Maybe bring your fat albert up next time.
Hey people, hope everyone is having a good Sunday... CC's been getting that double play ball today which is great. The Yanks just need to score some more runs.
Hey whatta you know, another Yankees starter blows a lead.
CC sucks too! THis whole team sucks!
we cant win there, im about to just turn the game off
This is the third time in three games that these guys have dominated the Yankees starter the second time around. All they need is three innings and they have our starter figured out.
... 3-1 Angels.
4-1.
Hinske is the perfect Cashman loser. He can't play the field worth a lick and only hits HR's and does nothing else. Brilliant signing Cashwoman. You're such a great GM. How's that sending Cervelli down for you working out so far? Pena? Starting Aceves and killing our BP? How could a $200m team have a starting OF as poor as the Yankees? Oh, that's right Cashwoman.
There isn't a GM who does less with more.
of course, every fucking time they need a 2 out hit they get it.
Anon, they didn't sign Hinske, they traded for him.
Isn't it amazing then when the Yankees star (jeter) comes up in a big situation, what does he do? Nothign but hit into DP's.
When the Angels stars come up, oooopppsss I forgot the Angels stars are ALL injured, they still get big base hits.
You're a fuckgin loser Jeter. And, you're a fuckign loser Cashwoman and Girardi for putting your faith in these OLD men. Actually OVERPAID, OLD men.
Nice losing streak all started by Cashwoman and Girardi's terrible decisions AGAIN.
You're act is getting tired, man.
No shit really? You're argueing amoutn semantics and not Cashwomans' stupid decisions? I know they traded him which is even worse. Cashwoman SUCKS.
"Cashwoman"? What are you, 7?
No, Cashman's act is getting old. 10 years of NOTHING but terrible decisions. Jeter's act is old. Posada's act is old. You're fuckign act is old. You fuckign dolts support idiots that make terrible decisions. NOW, you get what you deserve. You reap what you sow. This fuckgin horrilbe team wont be a good team period. All built by CashDUMB.
Exactly you argue nothign of importance. Strain at a gnat and swallow a camel. What is it like gettign up everyday and worrying about the little unimportant things while not worrying about the important ones? Dont you have the guts to look in the mirror and say "I am a fuckcing idiot." I need to change and stop listening to the news mafia. Then again this was taught to you by our great NEA/Aristotle public school system which has produced absolutely nothign in 50 years. So I am not surprised. You never challenged it before why start now?
Wow, what a moron.
Typical loser Jeter. If there wasn't 2 outs, what would have happened? Another double play! Yup, thats our captain who makes $20m+ a year to be horrible at SS and hit into DP's with his fat albert swing. Nah, he's not overpaid.
Yanks need to wake it up. This Angel team is NOT that good...
Thanks CC for yet another terrible start. You're meant to be our ace but u can't work your way out of trouble in one inning. This series has taken away much of the momentum we gained in June and July. It's also exposed our pitching staff for what it is - flawed.
so jeter is overpaid...what is your point exactly..he doesn't play hard cause he's overpaid?..
Awe you poor Jeter lovers. Waaaaaaaa.
How didn't Posada score on that play? Oh that's rigth he sucks too. Great move Retardi.
Game Over
First cc lets us down, then teixeira and arod follow suit. Think the Angels wouldn't have scored with the bases loaded and nobody out? They would have scored four or five runs. That was ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC. Game over. What a terrible way to end the first half of the season.
retardi...wow..brilliant...almost as good as cashwoman...you come up with those all by yourself?...
Lets see the Yankees had about $80m Brian Cashman players that just came to bat and they did what? Oh that's right NOTHING as usual.
Why sub Posada there? He can't run and he cost a HUGE run. If we had Cervelli, he scores easy because he is not a brain dead moron that doens't know how to run bases after 14 years of playing baseball. What does Cashman's Texeira do? Zilch. How about the $30m non-subsidy GayRod? Zero. Losers up and down this lineup and starts with the overpaid, old man Jeter. Get a real fuckign hit next time Jeter and not your patented little flare that no one can do anything with. Loser. $20m should be able to drive in runs and play defense and win.
Exactly youre worried about whats not important and not worried about whats important. You're like clockwork.
How's your loser team doing built a loser with overpaid, old losers on it? That's right they still can't beat a DECENT team. Great job Cashdork.
Yankees = Choke Artists.
ooooh..cashdork..another nice one...
Hahhahahahahah, they give another run. Gee, lets guess who is catchign now? Bwahahahahahaha, its fuckign Pissada.
Great job Retardi. You bring in POSada who costs us a run on the basepaths and then you bring him in to catch and he costs us another run behind the plate.
Such a loser organization run by losers. Same old, overpaid players for 10 friggin years now. Waht a joke.
"what"
wtf the angels always get out of the jam
terrible
3 excruciating losses to end the first half. If we can't beat Anaheim, or Boston for that matter, then we might as well stay home in October
Yupppers, POSada aka "Piece of Shit Ada" cost us another game with his horrible baserunning skills because after 38 years in baseball he still doesn't know how to run the bases and then he also comes in the game as a catcher and gives up another run. Nothing new here move along.
Make sure you start him again Girardi. Another great Cashman signing. Way to lose 3 in a row with your stars costing you all the games.
if u cant score a run with the bases loaded and no out with your 3 and 4 hitters up, u dont deserve to win...
no matter who we sign as long as we have that "New York" on the front of the jersey, we dont win in Anaheim.. its just sad.
Greg, you were right. It was a tough road trip and 3-3 is not the end of the world. But, having swept the Twins, we should have been able to take at least one in Anaheim. While the Twins series highlighted the strengths of this team, the Angels series exposed its weaknesses. I'm afraid that, as is often the case, A-Rod's homers counted for nothing. When we needed him to do something big today with the bases loaded, he bottled it...yet again. There's no comparison between him and Albert Pujols, the best hitter in baseball. Pujols usually comes through when his team needs him the most. A-Rod doesn't. It's been that way for some time now and it doesn't look like changing. It's one of the reasons why the Yanks will probably spend the second half of the season chasing the Red Sox rather than going ahead of them. One of the most sickening defeats of the season for me.
Yanks can't beat either Angels or Red Sox so there's not much point in them making the playoffs. Inept is one way to describe today's performance. Pathetic is another. Bases loaded twice with no outs and no one has the balls to come up with a big hit. This has put a real dampener on the Yanks 12 out of 14 run.
