There are also reports going around the web that the Blue Jays and Phillies are close to a deal that would bring Roy Halladay to the Phillies. More info to come...

- The Yankees have swept three out of the last four series.

Oh my god man. I went to the game last night, and boy was it great. We were in right field right above the Utz sign, and Teix's home run sailed right over our heads.
Prior to the game during the delay, we went into the Yankee Museum for the first time (I was unable to in my first visit). We saw Thurman Munson's locker (which was cool), autographed baseballs by all the Yankee greats, the world series throphies, and a model of the new stadium. All in all, you gotta check out the museum when you get a chance.
We didn't get home until 2 am, but it was defenitely worth it. I'm going to the Yankees-Red Sox game on August 7th, and that is something I'm really looking foward to. I'm also taking a tour of the new park on the 3rd, so I can't wait for that too.
8th straight tonight baby! GO YANKS!
Nice YB, good for you, glad you had such a good time.
Oh what do you know, the Yanks once again quickly erase an A's lead.
A-Rod looked at a couple meatballs, though.
Very cool YB. First game?
A beautifully manufactured run for the Yanks and they now lead 4-2.
very nice!
Greg, I'm not at the tv. Is Hughes available tonight?
I missed if they said anything, but I remember hearing earlier in the year that if he threw two innings he would sit for at least one game. So I'm assuming he isn't available tonight.
I figured that.
Great game by Joba. One of his best ever.
Now get him out and preserve his innings.
Joba has been fantastic tonight. If the Yanks don't score a run here I'd be very tempted to throw him out for one more inning. At least start the inning.
And sorry, I wrote 4-2 before, I meant 4-1.
crossfire,
Sorry it's a bit late on the reply, but last night was my 2nd game at the new house. I went to the exhibiton opender vs the Cubs back on April 3rd. The Yanks won 7-4 I belive.
Man Joba's pitching good tonight. 2nd time in a row. Maybe a hot streak is brewing for Joba?
As long as Joba continues to attack the zone and challenge hitters he can keep this up.
Damon needs some time off, everytime a ball is hit his way, i tense up, even the easy fly balls, cause nothing is easy with OLE alligator arms..
Paulie should be our hitting coach, he knows alot, Long just doesn't seem to know what he's doing...
He doesn't want to do it. He's been asked to be a coach before and he doesn't want to work full-time.
But I agree, he'd probably be great.
Well the offense has been great this year Mario, but you're right, Long really never seems like he know's what he's doing.
Maybe the Yanks should give Paulie a call. Him as our hitting coach would be fun...
Well yeah he doesn't want to be a coach you're right Greg.
Things will probably change as time goes on and his kids get older and move out.
I was at that exhibition game too YB. Section 117B.
When was the last game that ARod had a huge game?
He's done a pretty god job at broadcasting if you ask me.
OMG I was in section 110 crossfire!!
I agree, I really enjoy listening to O'Neil in the booth.
A-Rod had two big games in the Angels series.
Good game by Joba, don't really know what happened with the walk and HBP. Odd.
Great job Joba.
His line:
7 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 3 BB, 6 SO
Nice start.
O'Neill was my favorite player during the WS run. Of course there were a lot of guys to like a lot.
By the way, as I stated earlier, I wouldn't have brought Joba out for this inning even though he is pitching great.
Great seats for the game YB.
Yeah, first row too. I got a foul ball the pitch before Matsui hit the home run off the pole.
I was looking at the computer when the fly out was made, so I heard Kay going "hit deep to right," and I was like oh shit! But then Swish caught it so I was like okay, good.
Come on Coke, get him out!!!!!!!
sweet. I was in the last row on 117B with my bro
Matt Garza & Roy Halladay both went 9 innings game tied @ 2, when was the last time a pitcher went more then 9 innings... ????
What a job by Coke!
that a way Coke!!!
YESSSS!!
Hip Hip!
I went with my dad. If you remeber, I was supposed to go with my friend and my friend's dad, but my dad surprised me with tickets for the game that day, so you know who I had to go with - my pops.
Solo shot by Posada!
Hip-Hip! Jorge! Hip-Hip! Jorge! Hip-Hip! Jorge!
that was hilarious, MO immediately goes back int osit down laughing, now knowing its not a save situation, LOL
Going with your old man is cool YB. I took my son to his first game on Reggie Jackson day. I think it was in 1993. I am taking him in September for his 21st birthday. I brought him to his first game at old Yankee Stadium. I took him to his first game at New Yankee Stadium. (section 118)
And in September, i am taking him to the Stadium for his 21st birthday and buying him his first Yankee Stadium beer.
By the way, I have a 2 yr old now too. (got remarried and the wife wanted a kid.)
I am taking him to his first game on 8/27 against the Rangers.
Wat the heck? That entire play was messed up. I think Swish was out to be honest.
but but but the ball beat em there, make up for DEREK a few games ago....LOL
Cool.
Nice, Crossfire.
I used to go to games with my dad all the time, but as he's gotten older it's been less and less. I'm trying to convince him to come with me one time this year, hopefully a Sox game.
I hope the ump blew the call, we deserve a couple.
well if we're talking about kids,,,,well expecting my first with my wife in late Dec, already have a NY Yankee onsie...
i love that we're playing small ball, and not having to count on HR derby
7-1 Yanks. Didn't the Bombers win 8straight out of the All-Star Break last year as well? Yeah, they did.
Oh, check that, it's 8-1.
Keep pouring it on fellas, 7-1 now, check that, 8-1...
... Meanwhile in Boston....
Papelbon is pitching with a 3-1 lead, but the O's have runners on the corners with nobody out.
come on TEX, pad those stats, HR here would be awesome...
Congrats Mario!
Congratulations Mario! Good luck to you and your family.
1 out for the O's, runners still on the corners...
God I hope the team can save some of these hit cause they tend to score no runs after victories like this.
come on ALEX, you need a pick me up for the 2 strikeouts
Congrats Mario!!!
I'm not too concerned, Emmanuel. They're 46-22 over their last 68. Even if they don't score 6+ runs, they're finding ways to win.
... Bases loaded with one out and Luke Scott at the plate...
Bases loaded in Boston for the Orioles. Come on give us a nice 3 game lead Baltimore!
Come on Luke!!!
shit!
... Scott strikes out on three pitches, Mora coming to the plate ...
Whoa A-Rod was safe. Anyway, we're cruising to our 8th straight win so no worries here.
Come on Melvin!!!
... 3-2 count on Mora...
Damn, he struck out swinging... Baltimore blows.
damn
thanks crossfire, findout aug 4th boy or girl, i'm coming up for the make up rainout game vs angels on sept 14th i think it is, sitting
3rd base side down low,
You know who blows? David Robertson
I"m a misplaced Yankee fan,
Charlotte, NC
Posada can't block well...
Mario, are there any Yankees fans down there? I mean, I know we're everywhere, but I mean a decent population.
geezzz robertson, you just need to leave NY... we won, but you hate giving up 2 meaningless runs like that, ...
8 in a row baby!
Ahhhh, another nice win, 8 in a row. This is getting fun.
oh yeah, i see yankee hats, jersey's everywhere, bars, clubs, and i have a yankees liscense plate on the front of my suv, i get comments on it alot..
Charlotte is nice. Been there quite a few times. Went to Erickson stadium the first year it opened.
Nice, Mario.
at the beginning of lastnights game, i was hoping to win 3 out of the 4 vs oakland, screw that, I"m greedy, keep the train going,
on a funny note, GODZILLA was on FX tonight, to bad he didn't show up..
we should sweep Oakland. of course sweeping any 4 game series is hard.
LOL I was watching Godzilla too.
I guess Long can't do anything... the Yanks are leading the league in runs scored because of Long's inability to teach.
With that lineup this team should lead the league in those categories.
Right, but it's not like 'Long just doesn't seem to know what he's doing...'
I honestly don't know if Long is a good hitting coach. He's helped Cano, and A-Rod likes him. That's really all I know.
That and the Yankees were terrible offensively last year. Part of that had to do with losing Posada, but they shouldn't have been as bad as they were.
This year they've been very good, especially since A-Rod came back, and that includes time without Posada.
He's doing a good job I guess. But like I said, this team should be this good. They're lineup is stacked.
The Yankees are 21-2 in their last 23 games against teams not named the Angels.
