Kennedy Activated, Optioned to Tampa

Chad Jennings (hat-tip to River Ave. Blues) is reporting that Ian Kennedy has been activated from the DL and had been optioned to Tampa. Jennings assume that this is so he can pitching in the Florida State League championship series. He also said that,

According to the Tampa Yankees milb.com site, Hector Noesi is supposed to start tonight's game, but Kennedy is on the active roster and I can't think of any reason to make that move unless it's to use him.

This is very surprising news considering the Yankees said he wasn't going to pitch until the fall. Great to see Kennedy make such a speedy return from the aneurysm.
