A Look at the Playoff Roster

There has been much debate lately over who will make the postseason roster, but with Joba's performance yesterday I think it's become much more clear. They will probably take three catchers, 10 pitchers, and both of the speedsters (Guzman and Gardner). So with that here's my prediction. It's not necessarily what I would pick, but you'll figure that out when reading what I say below.

Starting Lineup:
Derek Jeter SS
Johnny Damon LF
Mark Teixeira 1B
Alex Rodriguez 3B
Jorge Posada C
Hideki Matsui DH
Robinson Cano 2B
Nick Swisher RF
Melky Cabrera CF

Bench:
Brett Gardner
Freddy Guzman
Jose Molina
Francisco Cervelli
Jerry Hairston Jr.
Erick Hinske*

Starters:
CC Sabathia
A.J. Burnett
Andy Pettitte

Relievers:
Mariano Rivera
Phil Hughes
Joba Chamberlain
Phil Coke
David Robertson
Alfredo Aceves
Brian Bruney**

* I personally don't think they need Hinske on the DS roster, and would rather see them bring an extra pitcher like Damaso Marte.

** There's a chance they'll go with two lefties and bring Marte, and in that case Bruney would likely be the guy who gets left off. But he really was throwing the ball a lot better lately, so he may have earned his way back onto the roster. And like I said above, they could also add another pitcher and just leave Hinske or even Guzman off the roster. Do they really need either in a five-game series? Of the two Guzman probably has more value because of his speed. Thoughts?
