Hideki Matsui and the Los Angeles Angels have agreed to a one-year contract, ending Matsui’s seven-year run with the Yankees that culminated in a World Series Most Valuable Player award last month.Well, Damon just gained some leverage in his negotiations with the Yanks.
According to an official involved in the negotiations, Matsui agreed with the Angels on Monday. The official was granted anonymity because the deal will not be announced until Matsui passes a physical exam.
If you ask me, the Yankees dropped the ball on this one, Matsui was the a great bat to have as the Yanks DH in 2010.
