Olney: Holliday and Bay Not in Yanks Plans

Buster Olney tells us that "The Yankees also have gone through their corner outfield options -- which won't include Jason Bay nor Matt Holliday"

According to Olney, Johnny Damon is at the top of the Yanks "wish list," the Yankees are just waiting to see if "his asking price will come down from the $13-14 million a year level to something much less than that." He says the the Yanks would be willing to sign Damon for a year or two at $7 million or $8 million per year. If they can't sign Damon, then the Yanks would start looking at other options not named Holliday and Bay.

This is similar to what we heard last year regarding Mark Teixeira, but don't be surprised if the Yankees actually stick to what they're saying this time around.
