Yankee "Fans" at the game today,
What happened at today's Yankees - Angels game was absolutely disgusting. Javier Vazquez was very wrongfully booed at today's game. I will not try and defend that he pitched well, but his line was no where near worthy of the treatment he received. Perhaps these boo's are coming from the memory of 2004. If so get over it. The Yankees are fresh off a World Series win and the wounds should be healed.
Sure he had a bad start after a long lay off in Tampa. Today's start was not pretty either, but what really happened? He didn't allow many hard hit balls, and most of the damage came with two outs. Today he lacked a put away pitch and that was the root of most of his problems. The fact of today's game was that Javy did not pitch well, but the Yankees had an opportunity to win this game, and from your number four starter that should be acceptable.
So boo the memory of 2004 all you want, but all your doing is hurting the Yankees of 2010. This years team has a chance to repeat as World Series champions, but it won't happen without Vazquez pitching and pitching well. You are not helping that cause. Give the guy a chance, and if he can't make it in New York then he has a nice expiring contract that plenty of teams would be willing to take on. So sit back and enjoy the ride, game 9 is tomorrow.
Oh and fans, get your act together. You are embarrassing.
Sincerely Yours,
jgavriel
