The Series Ahead: Yankees vs. Angels

Yankees - Angels
Yankee Stadium
3 games

I'm going to have to make this quick because I've got get some other stuff done before I head to the Bronx for the opener.

Yankees fans should be very pleased with the road trip they just had. Coming out of the gate taking four of six from your division rivals in their own yards is a very nice way to kick off your defense of your title.

It's too early in the season to make any judgments on either of these teams. The Yankees looked good over the first six. They're not clicking on all cylinders yet, but once again it's too early to expect that.

The Angels come into town for a rematch of last year's ALCS after a rough first week that saw them go 2-5. They major bright spot for the Halos this past week was former Yankee Hideki Matsui. He hit .370/.414/..667 with 2 homers and 5 RBI over the first week.

Expect a good series from two of the leagues best this week. Now I must be leaving for what should be a very special Opening Day in the Bronx. Here's the pitching matchups and injury reports...
