Vazquez Talks About His First Win

From articles via George A. King III and Chad Jennings:
“My mechanics are off, especially with the fastball,’’ Vazquez said. “I am trying to rush it a bit but this was improvement over the first two games."

...

“My breaking pitches all were crisper than in my first couple of games,” he said. “Still with my fastball I’m having a little bit of trouble locating, but all around I felt a lot better.”

...

“Obviously, the first two games were tough, I can’t hide that,” Vazquez said. “But it’s early in the season as well. There are still a lot of games to be played. I’m just glad I got that first win.”
Joe Girardi also had this to say about Javy's first win:
“I think it’s important to get that under his belt," Girardi said of Vazquez’s initial victory. “Everyone wants to feel that they are contributing, that’s part of being a team."
In each of his starts he's shown signs of what he can do, but has been killed by a few bad at-bats. It's good that he got that first win under his belt, but he still has a lot of room for improvement. Hopefully, we see more improvement and added velocity on his fastball as the season goes on.

What did you think of Javy's start last night?
