I'm certainly not suggesting that the Yankees are better off without Jeter, because they're not. But the Yankees aren't dead if Jeter misses more than a week. So get off the ledge Yankees fans.

If the Yankees can't win without Jeter, they are not as good as we all thought.
I'm not trying to diminish the Captains importance to this team, but this team wasn't built around 1 player carrying the load.
I know exactly what you mean. Baseball isn't an individual sport, one player doesn't make or break a team.
I was surprised to see them start Betemit at SS against K.C. instead of A-Rod. Guess Girardi just doesn't want to open up that can of worms with the media and fans speculating.

Why would you move a person to a position he has not played in 5 years?
That would mean putting Ensberg or Willie B. at 3rd thus reducing your fielding quality at 2 positions, and you have now limited your bench moves.
As I said above, If the Yankees can't win without Jeter, they are not as good as we all thought.
The Yanks need to worry more about the catchers position right now.
