The Yanks and O's meet for the second time this year, Baltimore took 2 out of 3 the first time they met in Baltimore.
Baltimore enters the series play very good baseball, winners of 7 of their last 9 games. They have a 23-20 record and are 3 games out of first. The Yankees, on the other hand, stumble into the series after being swept over the weekend by the Mets. The Yanks have also lost 5 of 6 and 8 of 11, and are 6.5 games out, and in last place in the AL East.
The Yanks look to get an offensive boost from Alex Rodriguez, who will be coming off the DL and making his first appearance since April 28th in Cleveland.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Yankees - Alex Rodriguez: With his return today, and the way the Yankees have been hitting (or not hitting), he will be a key player to watch th is series. Not only his own numbers, but what he does for the rest of the lineup. Before going on the DL A-Rod was hitting .286 with 4 HR, and 11 RBI.
He also has done well against the Orioles throughout his career, hitting .311, with 42 HR, 135 RBI, and a .936 OPS, in 154 games.
A-Rod vs. Olson: NR
A-Rod vs. Burres: .273 (3-for-11), 1 RBI, .545 OPS
Orioles - Nick Markakis: Markakis is the O's rising star and the only Oriole worth paying attention to offensively. So like last night, he's once again my player to watch for the O's series. He's gotten off to a bit of a slow start average wise, hitting just .260, but he does have 8 HR, along with 22 RBI
He has done well in his career against the Yankees hitting .319, with 4 HR, 22 RBI and a .902 OPS in 38 games, and at Yankee Stadium he's a .304 hitter, with 3 HR, 14 RBI, and an OPS of .950 in 17 games.
Markakis vs. Moose: .333 (4-for-12), 2 RBI, .885 OPS
Markakis vs. Rasner: 1.000 (5-for-5), 2.200 OPS
Markakis vs. Kennedy: 0-for-1

They used to call Markakis a young Paul O'Neill, and while id usually stray from even trying to compare someone to him, he does have alot of those qualities... minus the patented pigeon toe n leg kick.
Yea, I like Markakis a lot, and think he's going to be a very good ball player. I'd love to have a young guy like that on the Yankees right now.
