The Red Sox haven't needed him thus far, so it's really not a huge loss for them to lose him for the rest of the year. If anything, they will now be slightly more interested in any starting pitchers that hit the trade market, but again they really don't need anybody.Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling has aborted his attempt to avoid shoulder surgery in order to pitch this season and will go under the knife next week.
Schilling announced that his season, and possibly his career, is over today. "My season is over and there is a pretty decent chance I have thrown my last pitch forever," he said on radio station WEEI, according to reports.

Finally the overweight, big mouth can stop annoying the rest of us. He can take his ketchup sock from 2004 and stick it where the sun doesn't shine.
i hope i never hear from that asshole again.
I was hoping hed come back to give up just ONE more 3 run bomb to Jeter. Haha theres alot of youtube videos of that hit, its great to hear all those red sox fans screaming NO!!!! NOOOOOO!!!!!!!
Two HRs off of Schilling that I will never forget: Jeter's 3-run shot last season, and A-Rod's when he became a closer, both at Fenway.
He's also given up 3 or 4 opposite field shots to Cano.
haha i actually typed that i hoped he came back as a closer so he serve up 9th inning blasts to a-rod, then figured it was overkill since he obviously couldnt close anymore with papelbitch camped there.
