Albaladejo Makes The Team

According to Pete Caldera the Yankees have optioned Alfredo Aceves and Dan Giese Scranton. And Brett Tomko was reassigned to the minor-league camp, he'll also be at Scranton.

"I'm extremely disappointed because I felt like I pitched my way onto this team," Tomko said.

They both pitched very well, Tomko went 1-1 with a 1.17 ERA. In 15.1 IP he allowed 2 earned runs on 12 hits, walked two, and struck out 12. and Albaladejo had a 0.93 ERA in 9.2 IP, and allowed 1 run on 8 hits, walked 1 and struck out 8.

I guess Girardi feels that a combination of Albaladejo and Phil Coke will do the job in the long relief role.

I dont know if I can trust Albaladejo in a big spot..., hopefully he can prove me wrong. I would have liked Tomko to make the team as long reliever, he seems like a good guy.

Did u see Sheffield was released? LMFAO

I think the Sheff story is amazing. What happened? They are going to eat $14 Million just to NOT have him on the team? Man, what a disaster for the Tigers. Along with the Dontrell contract, what a mess. And as you point out, with 499 homers. He will find a home I bet. As for Tomko, if I were his agent, I would be INSISTING on a trade. There are SO many MLB teams that would love to have him as a fifth or even fourth starter.

I actually would have loved to have Tomko as the long man. :/

He was signed to compete for a job. He pitched terrific, and definitely earned it. I feel bad.
